Reconstruction of the Second World War in St. Petersbur

World War II
The beginning of historical reconstructions can be considered the French custom of reproducing the Battle of Waterloo, which arose several decades after the battle itself.
Historical reconstruction as a hobby in the USSR appeared in 1976 in Leningrad. It was a group of young friends and like-minded people headed by Oleg Valeryevich Sokolov, who were engaged in the “living” history of the Napoleonic army.
In 1987, in connection with the 175th anniversary of the Patriotic War of 1812, the first clubs of reenactors of the USSR organized a hike in the places of military glory of this war. This is considered the beginning of the organized recovery movement in Russia.
